The Mark IV field hospital bed is built for rapid deployment in temporary medical facilities, emergency-response locations and other environments where equipment must be transported, stored and placed into service quickly. With minimal training, one person can unfold the bed into its operational configuration in less than 60 seconds.
Field hospital bed features and deployment
The bi-fold frame is constructed from 6061 aluminum with an OD Green finish. It is designed to support up to 850 lb of static weight without material fatigue while remaining compact for transportation and storage. When folded, the bed measures 42 in long by 17 in wide by 32 in deep. In its open configuration, it measures 79.25 in long by 33 in wide by 35.25 in high.
The field hospital bed weighs 54 lb with its mattress and frame. Its weight increases to 68 lb when the supplied accessories are included. An IV pole and removable table platform are provided, and the table platform rests on the adjustable bed rails. These components support practical bedside use without changing the bed’s rapid-deployment purpose.
Patient support and adjustable positions
A 3 in polyurethane foam mattress separates the patient from the aluminum frame. Its water-resistant, decontaminable cover supports routine cleaning, while the frame is designed to distribute patient weight across the full surface and reduce concentrated pressure points. Both the head and foot sections can be adjusted through six positions to suit different patient-support requirements.
